How Portable Restrooms Have Changed Throughout The Years

By Sally Delacruz

Whether hosting an event or completing a lengthy construction project, it is important to make sure that there are suitable bathroom accommodations for all parties that are present. This is why many companies opt to secure portable restrooms. These are movable facilities that can be set up in an area and removed, once an event or project has been completed.

Consumers tend to think of these as very basic enclosures that lack a lot of comfort and amenities. Although there are a number of simple and low-cost designs that people can choose from, there has also been a number of impressive upgrades in this industry over the past several years. This means that people now have access to a range options that are far more luxurious and comfortable.

As an example, there are a number of large-sized executive facilities that can be rented. These are perfect for organizations that are holding large gatherings outdoors and want to provide impressive facilities for their guests. These roomier units have functional sinks for hand washing, good lighting and a range of features that can be specific to the different genders, like urinals.

Many executive bathroom designs have several stalls. Instead of large units that can only accommodate a single user at one time, they have separate spaces so that a number of individual can relieve themselves privately. This reduces the likelihood of crowding and long lines. Units like these are desirable to people who do not like being cramped in more conventional bathroom designs.

Sometimes larger parties will need to secure features that are designed to meet the needs of groups that have compromised mobility as well as provide accommodations for people of varying ages. For example, it is important to have units that can be accessed by those who are in wheelchairs. These have ample room and grab bars for moving safely and easily from mobile chairs to toilets.

Certain units also include baby changing tables. These can actually be very comprehensive stations for parents who need a safe place to diaper their babies. These have shelves that can be pulled out along with belts that secure infants in place. Dispensers can be positioned nearby with sanitary covering that are used to line these shelves. Some companies have installed small booths that allow parents to purchase additional changing tools at a low cost, such as wipes and even diapers.

Not only do companies secure options like these at events to accommodate their employees and associates, but some companies also look for more basic designs when setting up for construction projects. This eliminates the need to use the bathroom of clients which is considered unprofessional. This is a job site requirement that will often be specified in their contracts.

In certain instances, it is legally required to have adequate bathrooms on site for guests. Thus, when renting a venue or planning an outdoor event, it is important to learn what the requirements for facilities are. This will make it easy to choose a cost-effective solution for your guests and to ensure that you have adequate facilities for meeting the needs of all persons present.
