It has almost become the trend of the 21st century; companies are increasingly hiring coaches to help mentor their aspiring, promising and existing executives. Most of this personnel that renders biotech presentation coaching as a service are lawyers, former athletes, business academics, consultants and psychologists. And due to lack of training on their part, most of these do more harm than good in carrying out their tasks.

But what exactly is executive coaching? It can be summarily described as a field that focuses on coaching of executives, often high potential employees, to help them become more productive in the workplace through gaining of self-awareness, clarifying of goals, help them achieve their development objectives, and unlock their untapped potential. The coach works closely with the individual in the whole process.

Development of executives is a critical aspect of a business entity and its operations gone and it has often been overlooked however with the advancing further into the 21st century this oversight is gradually fading to darkness. When done right the results are tremendous, however, when wrongly done the problem with the employee gets exacerbated.

There are different reasons people come to a coach or rather companies bring their employees to a class: it could be that they have hit rock bottom and are at their wits end in productivity and thus cannot move the organization further. The employee can be in need of close counsel, yearning for someone they can have a confidential conversation with, someone outside of the organization they themselves belong to.

Being unschooled in the dynamics of psychotherapy these coaches commonly exploit their potent hold on their clients, offering easy solutions while ignoring the deep-rooted psychological problem that psychotherapy can fix. There s a lure for easy answers which has resulted in the rise of this form of coaching in the business world.

Relationship, Results, and Rewards: Increasingly clients are seeking after coaches who give practical wisdom, which they in turn us in their careers as a weapon against the greatest of their concerns. The seems to be a rising needs for proven strategies that work and these very same strategies are anchored by accountable relationships, bearing results at every part of the process.

Yet there s oversight in that view, there is usually unconscious conflict employees might have that this strategy favors to gloss over and in the long run the problem gets exacerbated because the psychological damage wasn t resolved to begin with. Inherently this will affect the company in that productivity of the employee will be affected.

It is also chosen to help develop skills to the managers, addressing developmental and growth needs which have an organization-wide impact. There is more reasons to it and can just be described as change-oriented, also the emphasis on learning has on supplementing and refocusing the manager s skills and accelerating the learning of high potential or recently promoted staff members.
