Good Time Management For Professional Moms Skills

By Jason Taylor

A professional mum is a woman who is married with kids and yet has to report to work daily. Her job roles in the work and the family make it quite challenging for her especially when it has not been long since she found herself in that position. With a few time management for professional moms tips, she will know how to combine these things and still have ample time to rest by the end of the day.

If you would like your husband to be of help to you, it is necessary to let him know the challenges you are facing. This is not a time to compete for equality with him especially if you are interested in your marriage lasting long. When you humbly explain things to him, he will show more interest in helping you out by cooking for you and the children when he has spare time.

If the husband is not around or he also does not have the time, employing a house help will be fine. The house help will aid in keeping the house clean and taking care of the children when the woman is not around. The maid will also help her go to the market so that even if she has to cook for her husband, it will no longer be stressful for her.

It is not compulsory to attend every meeting. A professional mum must have a scale of preference when she has a lot of activities to perform. Placing other engagements apart from work and family in front can make her lose her job and the affection from her husband at home. Since these are more important to her than a friend's birthday party, wedding, burial or even a PTA meeting she has to give them up when she is not disposed to attend.

Don't go about looking for who to help with their tasks. In fact, if someone comes to you with a request to help him or her, simply say no if you have no time for it. If you don't, you will see yourself spending more time at work than what is perceived to be normal.

The ability to say no is key to time management as a professional mom. This is necessary when side attractions come your way. Being distracted is very possible when you have planned out your day so please learn to say no when other things come around.

Also, try to set your own goals. This will remind you about what you have to achieve each day and take away the distractions as they come. Setting your goals also makes you work faster and gives you a sense of accomplishment when you successfully complete all or any of the tasks you have itemized for the day.

To do a job properly in the office, you need to be alert mentally. Unfortunately, this may not happen if you don't have enough time to sleep. Not sleeping well enough can make some tasks appear more difficult than they are. In fact, you may be surprised later on to see that you could have done much better on it.
