Learn Krav Maga A Reality Based Self Defense System Built For The Streets

By Manny Krugar

Krav Maga is the official method of self defense for the Israeli military. They needed a self defense system that was easy to learn, (didn't require years of training like traditional martial arts) and effective.

Created by Imi Lichtenfeld during world war two in Czechoslovakia, Imi developed his system as a way for the Jews to protect themselves. After the war, he continued to fine tune these techniques until it was officially adopted as the self defense system for the Israeli military and police forces.

What makes Krav Maga so easy to learn? Well there are no kata's, no Dojo rules and none of the aspects of traditional martial arts that take most people years of training in order to be proficient. Instead it focuses on real life, effective methods for dealing with any violent situation quickly and effectively.

Anyone can learn Krav Maga but be forewarned you better be in good shape. Classes are generally structured around alot of cardio, and be prepared to practice your new found self defense techniques against multiple opponents. It's not uncommon to practice against 3 or 4 opponents until you're body just wants to quit due to exhaustion.

The idea is to train under high stress, so that when and if you find yourself in a real life encounter you will be able to react, fast and effectively without thinking. This is what sets Krav Maga apart from other martial arts.
