Questions That Can Let You Think Of What's Good For Your Relationship

By Elise Jones

So you are thinking about leaving your girlfriend, even though that might seem like a pretty hard thing to do. It's okay; sometimes the best thing to do in this situation is start anew. But before you end things and potentially make a big mistake, ask yourself a few questions to make sure you're doing the right thing.

Are you really happy? When deciding whether or not to leave someone, this should be the first question asked.

If your girlfriend is not making you happy then you can either let her know and see if things get better, or break up with her and try to find a better match for you.

The time immediately following the end of the relationship is usually not too great. You will be mourning, either intensely or not, and you need to give yourself time to reboot. What you feel ready to pursue another relationship, find another partner and make a bid for happiness again.

Do you see the current situation ever getting better? You may have just hit a rough patch in your relationship; this could be the cause of your unhappiness. If so, try to endure it and see if things improve.

But it's you see yourselves starting to become less than satisfied with your girlfriend and everything just feels stagnant, it would probably be better for both of you if you just moved on. It's not fair to either of you to hold onto something that is already dead.

You girlfriend may not even know how unhappy you are; have you talked to her? Some people get really comfortable in relationships and start taking things for granted; if this is the case, give her a wake-up call and give her the chance to step her game up. If you guys have been together for any significant amount of time, she certainly deserves this chance.

If that doesn't help or you have tried working it out already, it is time to start looking elsewhere for someone who can fulfill your needs.
