Tips To Make An Impressive Presentation

By Cory D. Pittman

We all tend to have stage fright and have experienced stage fright at one point of our lives. It is that feeling that reaches deep within our stomach making us sick when we are at the stage and people are watching us waiting for you to make a joke out of your own self. But, there are things you can do to hide the fear and make you look even more professional.

Give special attention to your intro. It is your warm up exercise and then you can fully blast on with your speech right after your intro. Take the time to crack a joke or even introduce yourself even if the host has introduced you. You can even talk about how you got their or how afraid you are right at that moment.

Always be prepared with your visual aids and the equipments needed for your presentation. Do a dry run with everything to make sure your visuals are in order and the equipments are working perfectly.

Problems are sure to arise when you are doing your speech. The audience might not be interested or your speech presentation turns out to be bland. Always have another set of plans in case something goes wrong with your presentation. It will make you more prepared and more confident with your presentation when you know that you have all the grounds covered.

Heading out into the presentation site will help you feel comfortable with the area. The more you get to feel comfortable with your environment, the more you get to be more focused on your presentation.

Never lower yourself down to apologizing for being nervous. People will tend to notice that you are indeed nervous when on the surface you are as calm as the morning sea. It will only make the audience notice every little sign of nervousness on your part making you even nervous.

Practice calming yourself down when tension arise. If you are unable to control your fear, at the very least control yourself not to make a fool out of yourself with your actions when you are afraid. Don't forget to breathe.

Be careful with your diet and always watch what you eat. Water will help you overwhelm emotions that can dry your mouth and make you look like it is the end of the world in front of many people. Stay away from coffee and other caffeinated beverages as it will elevate your blood pressure and heart rate even more.
