Meditation And Spirituality

By Brett McTaggert

Whilst meditating, it helps if you choose a point straight before you and soften your gaze on that point. This enables you to become more centered around the extent of one's peripheral vision.

After you have extended your peripheral vision to the left and your right, next put 1 hand up above your head and the other down below your front. Likewise wiggle your fingers which means you can sense the extent of one's peripheral eyesight both up and down. As you are in this state of extended peripheral vision you'll notice there's a circle of visual consciousness around you. Inside this circle of awareness you'll naturally pick up the movement of objects a great deal easier.

This is actually the first part of the feeling meditation and studies have proven that just being within this state of extended visual awareness for two minutes can alter your brainwave patterns through the problem-solving 'beta' state in to the more relaxed and slower 'alpha' state.

What you'll also find throughout this sight meditation is that everything around you seems to be much more three-dimensional. For instance, while you walk about within this state you will notice that the globe about you, especially to your left and right will move left and right with every step that you take.

This is just one part of the feeling meditation. You are able to also increase your sense of listening. The way in which to do this really is to firstly listen to the small sounds within the body. Perhaps you'll listen to the sound of one's breath. Maybe you will listen to the sound of your saliva while you swallow. Or perhaps if you're truly peaceful you'll listen to your heart beat within your chest.

Just bear in mind of the internal sounds within the body. You will discover that you will normally move from 1 sound to the next with out even attempting. This is the all-natural movement of your listening.

Next, place your consciousness on the sounds outside of your self. Just permit your consciousness to expand outward and again notice the all-natural flow of the sounds in all directions outdoors of your self within the meditation. Noticing all of the small nuances inside every sound. This really is the way you get to listen to the stereo surround audio that's always present. The sense meditation is one of the easiest ways to link with the globe about you and it's always accessible for you in every moment.
