How Dietary Fat Can Lead To Bodybuilding Success

By Rebecca Lane

Becoming educated about the uses of dietary fat in your diet is necessary if you want to succeed at bodybuilding. Essential fatty acids are among the essential nutrients that have been discussed as of late. These nutrients are considered essential because the body is not capable of making them. In some form or another, these essential nutrients must be found and ingested. Even though you typically only hear about omega 3, 6, and 9, there are actually 8 known essential fatty acids. Each of these nutrients plays a vital and different role in successful bodybuilding.

Most bodybuilders that train at high intensities place large demands upon their body. If you train regularly, especially if you are a bodybuilder, you should be concerned about these issues. Although it seems illogical, bodybuilders will actually benefit from having extra dietary fat in their diet. Inside of your body, there are many other substances that will actually interact at a higher level if you ingest more dietary fat. Protein can actually be conserved at higher levels if there is extra dietary fat ingested on a regular basis. This type of result will not occur with someone who does not regularly exercise.

Hormone levels are greatly influenced by EFA's and have been a topic of conversation in workout circles. Most bodybuilders will be concerned about this topic. Joints and bones are affected by essential fatty acids in a variety of ways. Bone mass is directly improved by taking the proper amounts of EFA's on a daily basis. Our quality of life is, in part, dependent upon our joint health which should be important to everyone, not just bodybuilders. Strengthening your bones, especially if you do a considerable amount weight training, is important when you are working out.

Increasing testosterone levels in your body can usually be achieved by taking some bodybuilding supplements. To avoid taking supplements that increase your testosterone levels, simply supplement your dietary intake with foods containing saturated fats. It is not recommended to regularly ingest too much saturated fat each day. It is a good idea to eat enough saturated fats to not only produce testosterone, but to also maintain healthy cholesterol levels. By following these dietary suggestions, you will attain proper levels of testosterone in your body without having to take extra supplements.

People that figure out how much dietary fat they need to eat daily can actually improve their bodybuilding without supplementation. By having the right amount of essential fats in your daily diet, you will improve your bodybuilding dramatically. Using your total body weight and the goals that you want to achieve as guidelines, it will be easy to determine these ratios. Inexperienced bodybuilders may overlook the necessity of determining this important ratio. You must consider this very important aspect of dietary fat intake to body build with success.
