The Best Coaching Training Guidelines And Hints

By Walter Dios

There are many popular career choices out there, and life/business coaching is quickly becoming one of the most popular. Those who want to be self employed will find that this offers a level of flexibility that many people tend to crave, and it will even provide a level of satisfaction not experienced anywhere else. You don't need any special certifications or degrees to get involved, but if you wish to portray yourself as a professional, a coaching degree would certainly help.

ICF

The International Coach Federation is an independent company that will be more than happy to provide you training. The ICF is an organization working independently from any sort of business or even college. While this may be true however there are training programs certified by the ICF at remote locations.

The ICF will provide three different certification levels Associate Certified Coach, Professional Certified Coach, and finally the Master Certified Coach. The requirements for every level are different, and you will need to spend a certain amount of hours on each. Through the ICF you can obtain your certification in two different ways, for one you can portfolio document your professional experience, or you might finish the Accredited Coach Training Program.

Coachville's School of Coaching

The founder of the ICF has also founded the Coachville's School of Coaching along with the International Association of Coaching. Currently the IAC offers accreditation through an exam as well as the completion of a Learning Agreement. This will require coaches to finish professional development activities before they can actually complete the professional development activities.

Degrees

You can earn certification through your work experience, or you can complete training programs that offer certification. Only a few programs are not accredited. Some schools offer an actual coaching degree, such as a Bachelor's degree in psychology with a special emphasis on coaching. If you have the time, this may be a good option for you. However, if you already have significant experience as a coach, completing a certification education program or submitting a portfolio of your experience to earn a certification from the ICF may be a better choice.

What You'll Learn

The learning process is complex, but it will all start with you. The end goal is to teach you to instruct others in achieving their goals. They need to take small steps in the hope of reaching that ultimate goal. In some cases you will even find programs that aid you in setting up your own business.

How You'll Learn

When you look for a program you will need to make sure you get one that actually suits you. Some of the best can be found online believe it or not, and this will provide you with the opportunity to learn just when and how you want.

Prospects

Most people will never hire a life coach, and even more do not know what it is. The profession however is growing larger and larger. The Bureau of Labor Statistics states that this profession is expected to grow 23 percent between 2008 and 2018 which is considerably fast.

If you wish to become involved in this field, then the right credentials are vital. Seek out certification from the ICF or IAC.
