Advice For Students On Dealing With Dormitory Theft

By Chriss T Winlkerr

When my parents come visit me at the dormitory, I really feel awkward at times for being reminded to shut the front door soon after myself if I am the last one out to school or just before we all hit the sack. As it stands, nobody goes to sleep in college and everybody barely ever gets to class.

The folly of youth is not lost on me despite the fact that one thing continues to keep me grounded: I hate losing my things. I care for personal items so much so that I got up the nerve to spy on my dormitory mates making use of a fake electrical outlet hidden camera with DVR.

Considering that no person bothers to shut the entry doors to dorm rooms, the latest spate of petty thefts on us residents got to be a bother to me. A spy camera would allow me to obtain video evidence of robbery to hopefully retrieve exactly what would have been taken from me.

Do you ever get the feeling that a wall socket is watching you? Exactly. You never even enter a room and notice those sockets first. So, I placed a video camera concealed in a non-working power outlet beneath my study table.

I read on the internet that security cameras having a built-in DVR are absolutely no problem. With the recording gadget within the camera, it is all set to record off the rack, with absolutely no installation necessary.

My electrical outlet hidden camera is suited for motion detection thus I leave it to begin recording automatically once it discerns activity. Perusing videos is not time-consuming this way.

On weekends, I go through the video footage on my MacBook or a library PC. All it takes would be to place the free 4GB SD card into the supplied SD card reader and plug that in. Having the included video cable connect the camera to a Television set or VCR does the job as well.

Although one of the residence assistants recently caught a pilfering student red-handed, it is improbable that merely one person in an entire dormitory is capable of thievery. Until graduation day, I'm not taking my fake electrical outlet hidden camera with DVR down.
