Is Your Construction Site Secured?

By Andrea Geraldine

It is but difficult to maintain safety for huge and busy cities like New York or Sydney. Day to day, new faces come and go. Familiarity is almost impossible to achieve. The turnaround of events is very fast. To maintain peace and order is a very huge task. That is why; we must salute the security guards roaming all day and all night just to ensure that we are safe and sound as we do our daily things.

Having cameras at all the vulnerable square foot of a facility may prove to be impractical, this is where a security guard can step in and make routine patrols of your facility to help enhance protection of your valuables. They can be able to reach all the hidden places or blind spots that your cameras may not be able to.

Even with the swipe cards or key pad codes you may provide for your workforce or guests, illegal access to the facility may still be expected, this is because the swipe card or keypad code may be stolen or accessed by the wrong party, with a security guard however, at the entry point to confirm identity through facial or voice recognition, this can be eliminated, an unfamiliar face can be approached by the guard for questioning.

Before starting the construction, you must do an asset inventory. Daily if possible, you should ask for a report from your foreman to check if everything is in order. You need to know the value of all the equipments there. You must also do check and balance of the fixtures if still safe and secured.

You would have to wait until you can review the day's feed, and may not be able to take action immediately, or by the time you do, the unscrupulous character may have disappeared and the cost to apprehend them may be higher than the initial cost you might have put into hiring a security guard.

Allow me to stress that the security guards Sydney companies should have must be exceptional. The skills and character must be tested prior to hiring them. Better if you get men with previous experience in safeguarding. In return, do not withhold any benefits you can give to them because their job is no ordinary job.
