The Characteristics Of Olive Grove Baptist Church

By Pamela Harris

Churches also are known as the house of God provide some peace of mind for worshippers. The house enables people to feel like they are at the feet of Jesus after a good sermon from the pastor. You need to take a walk and visit one of their masses so that you can relieve some of your stress from the god sermons they have. Here is an overview on features of the olive grove Baptist church.

The churches do have large compounds that allow the worshippers to get a parking space for their vehicles. Some worshippers come to the house of God with a bicycle, and this requires a small parking space. Some of them come with private vehicles especially those who are coming from far and prominent individuals. Good parking space and enough security enable the saints not to get worried while they are listening to the sermon.

The arrangement of seats does occur in columns and rows. The sitting arrangements in the house of God are usually made according to the age. The children are required to sit in front so that they cannot lose concentration during the sermon. Stickers that give directions to where people sit is available and also the ushers can help you whenever you are stuck.

The choir does have a good attire that is presentable. They have those white clothes which make the churches look like a holy place. The proper dressing code does attract the worshippers and the type of songs they sing. Having a choir in gives the Christian an opportunity to know about new songs that can be used to praise God before the preaching begins and after the preaching.

The pulpit should be highly furnished. The proper furnishing of pulpit enables the congregation and the pastor to feel comfortable during sermon giving session. The carpet should be present so that when people who request for special prayers kneel before the pastor, they can at least have some comfort. It should be spacious to allow the pastor to move from left to right during the preaching process.

The house of God must have ushers who do other activities. There are several activities which need the help of ushers especially during Sunday service in which many people tend to come for worship. These professionals can easily do the collection of tithes and offerings. They walk through the congregation to collect the offerings. Some of the ushers do help in giving directions during mass service concerning the washroom and various parking lots available for Christians.

The roofs of these churches are elevated. The elevation provides room for increasing the number of ventilators such as windows and air conditioners. Elevated roofs also provide for additional rooms that are allocated upstairs which can act as the rooms for the pastor and other workers. The roofing is always strong and durable, and this enables it to withstand weather conditions for over a long time.

The cross in churches symbolizes the God presence. Many Christians believe that these crosses do have some power and most people bow to them when praying. Those who come to repent usually bow before the cross to ask for forgiveness from God. These crosses are sometimes raised higher in a church so that they can be visible to everyone.
