Covert Hypnosis--Make Sure You're Using The Proper Hypnosis Techniques

By Dr. Anthony Taylor

The art of covert hypnosis is frequently misrepresented. The reason why so many covert hypnosis courses misrepresent hypnosis strategies is because the persuasion tactics portrayed are taken from therapy. This means many covert hypnosis students were taught that Ericksonian Hypnosis can be taken outside of a therapeutic environment and applied towards power persuasion.

This is completely erroneous. You are not able to use hypnosis techniques that were intended for one function and apply them to an entirely different purpose. It is true that this is subject to debate, but what is even more true is that you can easily verify this for yourself by just trying to use therapeutic hypnosis techniques to influence people out of of clinical settings. It is not going to take long for you to understand that you will not get results.

But a lot of people, in spite of the lack of results they get attempting to use Ericksonian hypnosis outside of clinical settings, still try to use hypnosis techniques that were initially created for therapy. The main reason why they continue to keep trying is because they believe their lack of results is due to the fact that they have not learned the hypnosis techniques well enough. True, it does take quite some time to perfect Ericksonian hypnosis tactics, but no matter how much time and energy you spend sharpening Ericksonian hypnosis techniques, you will never be able to use this type of hypnosis for anything that it was not originally created for.

Conversational hypnosis was invented for the purposes of therapy. Milton Erickson cured people of headaches and helped people with chronic pain. Of course, there is absolutely nothing improper with using hypnosis for therapeutic purposes, because it can help people live improved and more satisfying lives. Yet, as far as real covert hypnosis goes, you must see to it that you learn the hypnosis techniques that were invented for mind control and influence in order to master the art of persuasion.

People have wasted thousands of dollars and have spent countless hours attempting to master Conversational Hypnosis for the wrong reasons. This is why over the last decade, many covert hypnosis students have forsaken conversational hypnosis and have begun to master the disguised forms of hypnosis, as it's the invisible forms of hypnosis that are most suitable for the power of persuasion.

When a shark is taken out of the water, it will die due to the fact it was taken from its environment. This same principle pertains to Ericksonian hypnosis because out of a clinical setting, Ericksonian hypnosis will die and will not produce any results within the realm of power persuasion because it is a form of hypnosis taken outside of its environment. This means that if you want your hypnosis techniques to work, you need to first fully consider if the type of hypnosis you are using was originally invented for what you are trying to achieve.
