Tips for Setting Short Term Goals

Times have changed since the pen and paper days and not every goal will be one that you can measure in black and white. For instances a good goal for some it is to attain a higher level of spirituality. How do you put a time limit and measurement on paper for that? This is what can be referred to as a subjective goal.

Let's explore not making goals the objective but ways to make effective short-term goal plans. A good goal plan is one that has a reasonable chance at being successful. These can be short or long term goals but the effect is the same.

No one wants to work day after day and see little results. The reason so many online businesses fail is the lack of setting easily achievable goals. To say you want to make 100,000 in the first week is not a realistic expectation. Setting a realistic goal and following through to make it happen is how you will eventually realize the dream of making your first 100,000 dollars.

There are those who will look at someone else's goals and declare that they are not reasonable. Every person has to judge for themselves what is actually attainable and what is only a yearning that is not possible to fill. You should keep goals within the realm of possibility. And remember possible does not always mean easy. 90% of the time possible means you have to knuckle down and push hard. Attempt the improbable but reach for the attainable.

Short-term goals do not always have to have the element of challenge in them. if you are setting out to achieve your personal life's goal. You will need to have both easy and hard goals in the mix. If you set up only hard goals you will get frustrated and discouraged all too quickly. Frustration with slow progress is a big killer of dreams. Having easy goals will help you get in the habit of succeeding. Yes, success is a habit. You learn follow through and reward by setting and achieving the easy short-term goals.

Your short-term goals need to be specific in the sense that it leaves no guess room when it comes time to evaluate the success of the goal. You can abbreviate titles and headings but always be as detailed and clear as possible about the steps involved in reaching the goal and the goal itself.

Plan on achieving goals on a daily basis for at least 3 months. here are a few practical tips on how to begin creating these goals.

Timelines are important to your goals setting endeavors. Keep the goals on a short of schedule as possible but you should still be flexible enough to overhaul the entire thing if necessary. This is how a lot of goal setters end up suffering from depression or otherwise being so stressed out all the time that their life doesn't have any joy in it. Do not forget in the end there will be a reward. Take that vacation you have been putting off or just a day at the beach with no worries.
