Disturbed By Unwanted Fat On Your Body? A Fast Weight Loss Diet Wont Change That

By Duke Skowron

If you have been searching around for information that will help you to achieve effective weight loss, you may be confused right now. There is so much contradictory information. There is even false information. Most of this is due to the companies that comprise the billion dollar weight loss industry.

A review of the content published by companies in the weight loss industry, reveals that they talk primarily about fast weight loss and not effective weight loss. It is likely that they think that people want quick solutions.

Perhaps they are correct about people wanting fast solutions today. But they are wrong if they think that people dont want effective weight loss at the same time. However, the two are not compatible.

Definition Of Effective Weight Loss

You and I may have different definitions for this. I would like to share mine. I think that a weight loss program is effective, when it enables you to lose weight and keep it off. It is effective when it helps you to look the way you want to look on a permanent basis.

Scientific studies reveal that you should keep weight loss to no more than 2 pounds per week. The studies show that people who lose more than that in a week, are likely to regain the weight that they lost when they finish the diet. The government goes as far as to say, that it is unhealthy to lose more than 2 pounds in a week.

How Do You Define A Fast Weight Loss Diet?

I think that weight loss that exceeds 2 pounds in a week is fast weight loss. So many of the diets in circulation today, are promising that you will lose 5-10 pounds in a week. What's concerning, is that you can actually achieve that weight loss on those diets.

What Prompts People To Lose Weight?

The impetus frequently comes from what they see in their mirror. They are bothered by the unwanted fat they see every day. When it gets to be too much for them, they make the decision to go on a diet.

However, you dont lose fat on a diet. There is only one way to lose fat and that is by exercising. A good diet will help you to lose fat faster, when you exercise. This is what happens when you do an effective weight loss program. But you wont lose fat by diet alone.

Yet, earlier I said that you can lose 5-10 pounds per week, on a fast weight loss diet. That is correct. Your scales can confirm that you have lost this weight. The weight that you will lose will be from a loss of water from your body, which will reduce your muscle mass. It will not come from fat loss.

When you finish the diet, your body will automatically restore its water level to level it needs. Your scales will confirm that you have put back on the weight that you had lost, thus making your fast weight loss diet ineffective.

Your Mirror Provides You With Better Feedback On Your Progress, Than Your Scales

When you lose fat, you will also lose weight. But when you lose weight, it doesnt necessarily mean that you have lost fat. If you decide to lose weight because of the unwanted fat you see in the mirror, measure your progress by how much less fat you see in the mirror. It is a better measuring stick.

Dont be hypnotized by what your scales say. Go for fat loss. It results in effective weight loss.
