You can become calmer and more focused in any situation when you have stress relief methods that work for you. Everyone has people, events or situations that cause them stress, but if you can learn to let go of it so it doesn't build up, you can go through life feeling much more relaxed and free. There are various ways to find relief from stress but here are some of the most popular methods.

Breathing more slowly and deeply is a fast way to reduce stress. When stressed, breathing automatically becomes shallower and some people even hold their breath. Aside from taking deep breaths in stressful situations, you can take this a step further by learning how to breathe in a deeper and more relaxed manner all the time. Taking yoga classes can teach you how to breathe more deeply or there are countless books and classes that focus on breathing. This will not only reduce your stress but can improve your overall health because taking in more oxygen will increase your energy level.

One simple self healing technique that's very good for stress is EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique. To do this, you tap places on your face and body to stimulate acupuncture points. There are several books on the topic, as well as videos online that you can follow along with. Different tapping sequences are used for different purposes and many can reduce stress. EFT is something you can do by yourself with no equipment and the entire routine can be done in a few minutes.

Almost everyone feels like they could use more time, but the trick is to make the best possible use of the time that you have. Setting priorities is a critical skill to learn. Getting the largest tasks done first is important. Delegating smaller tasks will also help. An inevitability are unexpected events, so be sure to be flexible with your goals and schedules.

Take a break from your cell phone when you are on a break at work. While we may not always be able to escape every device in our lives, just taking a short break from them is a great way to reduce stress. Stress relief can found in many forms so look for the ones that work best for you. You can learn techniques to fend off stress when you learn what types of situations cause you stress. When you're in a calm state of mind, you'll find it easier to do what needs to be done and to do it well.
