Grow your entrepreneurial business through strength in numbers

By Monica Magnetti

Not so long ago, businesses were often antagonistic toward each other. Every entrepreneurial business wanted to establish its importance, to corner the clientele, to be the only one on the block that mattered. Businesses didn't find strength in numbers. Instead, they took strength from their solitude.

Today a new philosophy has taken hold of entrepreneurial business owners: The more the merrier. We all provide value to the world. My clients can be your clients. Entrepreneurial business owners understand the strength in numbers, the power that grows out of collaboration.

What does this change mean?

When the new age movement introduced us all to the concept of abundance, entrepreneurial business owners began to realize that when we get together, everybody wins. This is not about merging our businesses. It's about promoting our value not only to our clientele but also to our competition. It's about getting more people interested in what we do so that everyone benefits from our expertise and understands better what their own business is about. Now similar businesses open up in the same area and market their establishments together. They become allies because ... there is strength in numbers!

The 21st century has become marked by the idea of collaboration-and collaboration means strength in numbers. Maybe this hasn't really come about by choice. Maybe this has come about by the sheer number of new businesses opening up. The reason doesn't matter! It's great to see businesses offering clients the value of shared expertise. Everyone-the entrepreneurial business owner, the client, the community-benefits.

Offering value, both as an individual and as a community of like-minded people, is what collaboration is really about.

Entrepreneurial business owners love brainstorming with each other. That's because one person's creative mind feeds another person's ideas and vice versa. When we share and collaborate, when we step out of the comfort of our own thinking, strength in numbers brings results.

How are you teaming up in your life-your personal life, your entrepreneurial business life-to create your own nucleus of like-minded people? How do you give of your time for the benefit of your community? How do you find support to move out of yourself when you become stuck in your comfort zone? How do you find strength in numbers in your life?

All together, in this beautiful world, entrepreneurial business owners are making our individual and community marks. We are making the space for each and every one of us to shine. We are showing what can come from strength in numbers!
