Escondido Dentists and the History of Toothpaste

By Eric Smith

Let's face it, we live in a toxic world; so you don't want to add to your toxic load or create more stress for your immune system through your dentistry. Studies indicate that at some point at least twenty per cent of dental patients develop sensitivity to dental material. Your holistic dentist will have different forms of testing available to ascertain which materials are suitable for you. Escondido dentists can help with holistic treatments.

Now, one of the main techniques used in sedation dentistry is the breathing of Nitrous Oxide gas, better known as "laughing gas" owing to the effect it has upon the demeanor of those who inhale it. In fact, Nitrous Oxide was the very first anesthetic ever discovered and in 1864 a Hartford dentist, Horace Wells, was recognized by the American Dental Association to be the pioneer of using the gas as a sedative and anesthetic during surgical procedures performed in the dentist's chair. Nowadays, so popular and effective is Nitrous Oxide that an approximate 45 million people undergo a variety of medical procedures, treatments or surgeries whilst under the effects of it so as to quell the fears and dull the pain!

If you are wondering about the existence of any fine print, such as "may cause painful death if inhaled on more than three occasions in any ten year period" then don't. Sedation dentistry is a highly safe and successful field, which has proved over and over again to be incredibly effective. The gas itself is slightly sweet-smelling and completely inoffensive to the nostrils (so you won't burst into a fit of allergic sneezing). It's colorless and you can breathe it quite easily.

Toothpaste today - toothpastes come in a kind of colors, flavors, aromas, together with or without the need of fluoride, artificial or normal ingredients, grouped together in explosive tubes or cans, dispensers etc. There's an issue containing not varied, however. Some people just do not mind spreading the toothpaste not only in the toothbrush, but close to the dispenser, the sink, mirror, even - and elsewhere. Superior, is probable to forget to put the cap on the tube after use. This kind of (bad) habits can become a serious problem when that person shares the same bathroom together with another type of person who prefers a tube of tooth paste (always on the lid when not in use) and brush of teeth alone. So far, I have not heard of a cure than cure "disease messy mouthwash."

So now that you know the history of toothpaste and how important it is to brush. Make it a habit and brush twice a day. And don't forget to visit your Escondido dentist on a regular basis!
