Global Spirituality And Seeking Faith

By Nichole Cunningham

Defining itself as a state of being, and not a religion is just a part of what sets global spirituality apart from the rest. Many are now seeing that they may be able to find a religious following that they can make sense of. This is not by any means a new movement, but it is definitely finding a rapid growth in followers.

Every religion has met struggles somewhere along the way. No matter the struggles that arise, a system of beliefs can be kept alive by those who are loyal. No matter what comes and goes along the way, this movement can remain as long as there are those who still believe.

The lack of an eternal judgement for not conforming to a specific religions ideals seems almost divine to a number of people. This is just a small portion of why so the following is increasing as rapidly as it is. The whole point is that humans should respect one another as humans.

One of the areas where this movement meets some friction is in the way it perceives other religions. The perception is that all other religions originally started out as local or tribal beliefs, and over time they spread around the world. The part that is taken to be offensive to some is the idea that each religion is nothing more than how some person from history interpreted something that they saw or something that they had read.

When it comes to the perception of other religious views, there are many struggles. Most don't argue that each religion started out in a small area, or within a particular tribe, and spread from there. However, most refuse to believe that religions were created by humans.

There are certain groups of people and cultures that are making more fuss than others. The groups who are against certain things because these beliefs wrong based on their religious ideals seem to be at the forefront of this. These are the people who are using their ideals as a way to pass judgement on others and create more hate.

Another reason for the rapidly increasing popularity is that the goal is to unite humans as one culture. The idea is to erase the lines drawn in the sand by separate cultures, differing sexuality, opposing religions, and different races. The lasting hope is that humans will begin to see each other as nothing more than human and find reasons to unite rather than reasons to fight.

Global spirituality is by no means a new idea, but the popularity has recently been steadily on the rise. Groups who tend to be discarded by other religions may find their way here and find that they have a purpose as well as happiness. This is not a religion, but instead it is truly a state of being.
