Watch What You Eat

Not eating is the wrong way to think - you need to think in terms of eating right instead. Even if you go to a restaurant you can do this. Be practical and focus on not gaining weight. Eat low fat, low carb foods, with lots of vegetables and boiled or grilled or steamed fish and chicken. Easy on the sauces and on the oils but you can use all the spice and herbs you want to make it taste good.

Dealing with Stress

Substituting

Find out how a meal can have fewer calories by switching and replacing high calorie ingredients with low calorie ones. For instance, switching to low fat milk instead of full fat for most of week, and having diet sodas instead of sugar ones. You can also have diet versions of chocolates and have dark chocolates with less sugar instead of regular milk chocolates which have a lot more calories in them. As much as possible switch calorie-laden sauces with herbs, lemon juice and spices to add flavor. But one or two teaspoons of sauces won't be a problem.

Determine Quantity

Always measure ingredients instead of assuming you know what one teaspoon feels like. It is important to control food portions and calories that way. Don't approximate such items. It's always a few calories that add up to create a pound.

Sleep Well

A good sleep cycle is important for losing weight. Your weight loss plan requires sufficient energy and dedication which sleep can provide. Sleep is important because your body recovers during that time.
