Airsoft Guns, Tactical Maneuvers, And War Games

By Anthony Carter

War gaming is becoming pretty big now that Japan has shared the airsoft guns with the rest of the world. You are quite likely to find an exact replica of your favorite gun in an airsoft version. Just like when paintball was introduced, the new safer gun has developed a rebirth of sorts for the paintball and war gamers.

Some of these guns are incredibly realistic which can make a difference to some players. A discharged shell casing, a safe projectile, and the basic feel of a real rifle make the airsoft gun a prime choice for those who want to fire at targets with realism. These guns, when used properly are not likely to cause pain the way a paintball gun can.

It's important to keep in mind that these are in fact toy guns. They have been intentionally designed to be safer and better than the traditional air pump BB gun and cause fewer injuries than the paintball gun. Making the transition to the airsoft guns has given new life to war games and increased tactical planning skills.

Whether you choose the spring loaded, the gas charged, or the electric charged version, you are buying a newly accepted form of play gun. These simulated weapons have been around for a long time, and they are far from newly developed, but they are newly accepted throughout the war gaming community.

Gas powered guns deliver a high degree of power and simple component use that makes them the prime gun for the serious weekend warrior. Usually filled with an environmentally friendly gas element, there is a charge time needed to power up the gun before the beginning of the game.

These are more expensive airsoft guns than the spring loaded version, but they also don't require loading for each and every round. They do have a poor reputation of reliability when the temperature drops. Some people have reported problems as warm as 50 degrees. Others have found that the gun delivers more than reasonable reliability in climates where frigid temperatures are rare.

The electric airsoft gun is, for many reasons, the most popular war gaming choice among the options. With no reload in between rounds, the basic rechargeable battery, and the middle of the road costs make this the perfect gun for all weather gaming with rapid fire abilities for a middle of the road price. These are hardy enough for the roughest terrain but gentle enough for introducing your 10 year old to target practice.

With the safety advancements, the airsoft guns are reaping a higher interest in war games, especially in the younger generation. While the debate regarding whether you should allow your child or teenager to participate in war games will go on forever, the interest is definitely there. Always practice safe, law abiding game play and advise others to do the same.
