The Driveway Alarm Alert is Multi-Purpose

By Steve Thibeault

Sometimes you feel as if you need eyes in the back of your head as you have so much going on and so many assets to protect, you can get overwhelmed. If you own a large property it can be difficult to ensure security from all angles and you need to have multiple layers of protection during these troubled times that we live in. During the hours of darkness especially, a homeowner needs some additional assistance to be able to sleep soundly at night.

While a majority of homes these days are equipped with an alert system should somebody break in during the night for example, savvy homeowners choose to add a second layer of protection by installing a driveway alarm alert system to give them additional notice that something untoward may be about to happen.

A well-thought-out driveway alarm alert system is going to be particularly effective at outsmarting even the most switched on criminal. This type of technology allows us to look after our properties, regardless of the layout or the number of ways to access.

Due to its name, you might think that the driveway alarm alert system is only for use at the point of your primary access. You may be surprised to hear that you can configure the system for a variety of purposes, in addition to tracking for potential intruders. If you have a new puppy in the home for example, you may not be too pleased if it plays in your flower beds and you can set the system up to notify you. On a more serious note, you do not want a child wandering near to a swimming pool. Be notified when a visitor is approaching the front door or conversely when an unwanted visitor is boarding your speedboat down at the lake.

The driveway alarm alert system operates according to a series of sensors. Each sensor can be configured individually and once it is activated it sends a signal to a transmitter. The transmitter is quite powerful and can emit a signal up to 300 feet through walls to the receiver in your home, for example. It's good to know that the system is entirely waterproof and weatherproof and can be easily mounted and adjusted to your needs.

Rather than just been notified that there is a problem of some kind some way, the beauty of the driveway alarm alert system is that each sensor can be matched to a specific message. You record the message in your own voice when you are setting up the system and therefore will know the nature of the problem, whether it relates to the dog in the flower bed or to the pool area.

While the purpose of the driveway alarm alert system may well be to help you in adverse circumstances, this does not always have to be cause for the system to be used. For example, if you're expecting a very important visitor you will want as much advance notice that he or she is approaching.

Whether you use this system for residential or small business purposes, think of six different zones that you want to monitor and then set up a specific message for each. For example, child monitoring, pool safety, staff behavior, etc.
