Why You Need To Be Self Confident

By Kaizen Fernando

It has been said that one can't get very far in their career unless they have self-confidence. A number of steps and methods have been spat out as to how this can be achieved. The question that still stands is why building self confidence is such an important thing to do.

One reason is that you won't be able to take advantage of your mind without confidence. Building self confidence is in a way similar to building your analytical abilities and churning creative juices for use in your studies or your job. If you're not confident in yourself and your ability to do something, you won't even be able to come up with ideas and abilities that will make you succeed.

Another reason is that self confidence makes you visible in the eyes of people around you. Everyone knows how important this is, especially if you're after a promotion or if you're working in the sales industry. If you're self confident, you can "walk the walk", and effectively communicate and socialize with others.

Self confidence also builds character. In this fast paced world, it is important to be confident of your ideals, views, and beliefs, otherwise you'll be swept away with this fast-paced society. Since you're bombarded with different ideals daily, being able to remain confident in what you believe is an asset. Who knows, you might be able to get loyal supporters and friends once others see how confident you are with your stand.

A confident person can easily be picked out of a crowd. They are the ones living life to the fullest. Building self-confidence gives you the energy to take risks and to follow through with plans. A person with confidence is dependable. You know who they will be no matter what day it is. They are firm in what they stand for, not afraid to fail, and certainly not afraid to try.

As far as a romantic life is concerned, self-confidence goes a long way in catching the attention of a boy or girl you like. Ever wondered how the beautiful, gorgeous partner ends up with the more normal partner? Want to know their secret? The answer is simple: they have self-confidence!

In addition, self-confidence can make you a certified achiever. If you're confident in yourself, this translates to better output and you become more proactive at work. In turn, you get more attention from your colleagues and top management, so salary raise and promotion aren't too far behind.

There are lots of other reasons why building self confidence is important. This is applicable to your job, your relationship with people, and your success in what you do. If you're confident in yourself, you won't be easily discouraged and you won't be affected by negative remarks from other people. In addition, self confidence is contagious, and being able to positively change the mood of the people around you can reduce stress and can mold you into becoming a great leader.
