Getting More Money

By Erik Teichmann

Few of you will be fairly surprised to look at me backing-up an interest in money - Buddhists don't do money, right?

But few of you would truly like more money, and are questioning why you still haven't got as much as you'd like. This one's for you, as you are worthy of the best too!

It is usually said that success is 20% skill set and 80% mindset, and in spite of that if you see the way people deal with the goal of getting more money, you'll figure out that most of them will devote a great deal of energy and dollars to learning a skill set, but do almost nothing to get the mindset of a winner.

To say it frankly, if you believe $5000 on a share trading program and a couple of (usually free) motivational talks on the frame of mind is the best balance, think again. Or be prepared to join the 80% of people - many of them qualified in the skill set - who lose money on shares. The same implies when it pertains to many other means to enhance your wealth: business, profession, multi-level marketing (where the success rate is 3%, actually), poker even!

And, for best or worse, to several more other areas of your life.

So how will be able to you get that state of mind? Well, first step is to get to know the blend of conflicting beliefs, emotional states, and behaviours that makes up whom you are. For majority of the people, there are a lot of internal blocks to getting money, and these are usually totally unconscious. You may have been taught the best "system" to make money, but the person operating that system isn't a robot, it's a person - you! - with human idiosyncrasies, contradictions and blind spots, often more than sufficient to sabotage the best "systems" available.

A motivational speaker whose message is "You will be able to have it all. You truly can. Look at me. I have it all. All you need is to believe that!" is having next to no effect on your unconscious programming. He's simply scraping the surface, and actually that's his job - to scrape the surface hard enough to awaken you to the truth that you have a lot more alternatives than you figured out, so that you're prepared to take the next step.

So are you interested in taking the next steps towards a life with much more money in it? Yes? So you will be requiring to choose a skillset that will get you there, irrespective of whether it's qualifications for a better job, training in how to establish and operate a rewarding business, learning about a share-trading "system", or whatever you require for your preferred path.

But much more prominently, ask yourself the (perhaps distressing) question: do you have the mindset of a winner? Because wanting something is not sufficient. Finding out the competencies isn't sufficient. For many of you, it will also be essential to take on new beliefs, habits and attitudes.

The good news? These are even things that you can learn!
