The Different Types Of Hair Removal Methods

By Cindy Craig

Hair safeguarded prehistoric humans. A plentiful growth performed as a blockade against crawling insects venturing to crawl into body crevices; hair also provided warmth and shade. Some people have more than an ample growth while others have them only in tufts or patches.

Currently, an excessive growth of hair is viewed as unhygienic and unattractive. Women are called up to defend their habits of personal hygiene if they are found out to have excessive hair left to grow on their legs, arm pits, bikini line, and face.

Because of society's perception and obsession about unwanted hair found in ladies, several hair removal methods are available for those suffering from an excess of hair in the parts of the body enumerated earlier.

Shaving gives a short-lived solution to the excessive hair growth problem. Nevertheless, it is considered the most practical method of hair removal.

Tweezing is another hair removal technique viewed to be better at keeping hair regrowth to a minimum. However, it is considered very time-consuming because one needs to pluck out the hair strand one by one. Still one more thing: Anecdotal evidence identifies plucking as one of the major causes of infected sebum glands.

Waxing is another hair removal method. It involves warming up strips coated with wax and placing these on the leg. After a few moments, the strips are yanked out.

Laser is a painless and long-lasting method for removing excessive hair. It works by targeting melanin, which is responsible for the dark pigment of the hair. Once melanin is zapped, dark hair regrowth is nearly impossible.

If considering laser hair eradication, consult a certified dermatologic doctor to learn more about the advantages and risks of this procedure. You must make an effort to do this for your own safety and protection.
