How to Improve Your Results in Every Part of Your Life

By David Ferrers

I read a lot of junk online and in sales leaflets about how this or that coaching or training programme can change your life. Why is it junk? Because it tells you about how they'll teach you, what they are going to teach you and what you'll learn when you use what they teach you.

To me none of that is the point of developing yourself. The point is to assist you to do something or many things better than you do them now so that it becomes possible for you to get improved results. The main point about NLP techniques is not that they are powerful or good, it is that, when you master them, you will then be able to change facets of your life.

Without much fear of contradiction I can say that everybody I have ever coached has had a considerable number of issues which they felt were holding them back. They wished to overcome those issues so that they could see their way clearly forward.

You're most likely no different. If you are not achieving everything you would like to achieve in your life it is likely to be because you have barriers within you that are holding you back. These barriers prevent you from releasing your full energy and creativity so that you can make progress.

You have probably made an effort to surmount these barriers. But the issue with working on your own and with restricted accessibility to good systems, is that you may find that you go around in circles. Sometime the barriers get higher because the more often you fail to surmount them the more you believe them to be impossible.

My advice is that you read a good NLP book like Sir John Whitmore's Coaching for Performance and then go and work with a good, experienced NLP coach. By the end of your time with your coach you must have clear goals, a timetable and a strategy for achieving those goals and the motivation to make your ambitions a reality.
