How You Can Keep Your Valuables Protected From Thieves

By Raemond L Torres

My old apartment was burglarized a year ago. At that moment, I lost my laptop computer, my digicam and all the money and precious jewelry I had. You can't think of how much trouble it was to change (and remember) all my passwords, recover important data, file a report and locate other stuff that had gone missing.

And the feeling of having your own privacy violated likewise never goes away. My sister thinks I am paranoid currently but I know from experience that you can not be too careful. That is the reason why I began to look into home security diversion safes afterward.

These are storage spaces which are camouflaged to look like everyday items. I do not believe a thief would take the time to bother with a bathroom cleaner or a hairbrush, for instance, because they would have to accomplish their job really fast.

I mean, a year ago, nobody even noticed anyone coming in or out of my old apartment and it was during broad daylight! The police said the burglars must have done it in under ten minutes.

There are numerous types of diversion safes. Some look like a rock, others, just like soda containers. The moment my best friends during high school and I had a reunion last Christmas, I gave one to all of them.

The one I obtained for myself was a lint roller diversion safe since, not like the can safes, this one appeared like it belonged within my closet. I mean, if I were a burglar, I would find it strange to discover a can of Coffee Mate in a closet, right?

I have not had a break-in since that period a year ago however imagine my shock when Connie called me the other evening from Chicago, stating that her house had been ransacked!

She suspects that this may be her ex lover on one of his alcohol-induced frenzies because the police caught him about two miles off on drunk driving. Thank heavens she kept her cash stashed in one of the home security diversion safes I had provided last year.
