Beginning A Dialogue With God

By Marisol Guy

There may be a time when you want to have a dialogue with God. There could be personal difficulties you are encountering, or you might want the opportunity to understand your faith more along and your relationship with the Deity on a deeper level. Making time in your life for these types of thoughts and conversations could mean a lot for your religious intent.

You could be seeking a more peaceful way of living. If you are struggling amid addiction, this strategy could be a way to focus your mind on staying sober and improving your outlook. Many different people in recovery rely on this type of personal introspection and faith talk to help stick with sobriety.

You might want to write in a journal about your conversation. You could wait and listen to hear a response and make note of that, as well. These conversations may become the basis for a larger coping strategy that you employ as time goes on and work as something you draw strength from on a regular basis.

You also could engage like-minded friends for these types of conversations. You could share stories of what you heard in your conversations. You might find a common theme of guidance that carries through individuals in a divine message.

If you take religious classes, your instructors also may have advice on how to make the most of these conversations so that you gain a deeper understanding of both what is said and what it may mean in a larger sense of your life. These experts also can assist you when you face difficult questions of faith, or need guidance when it comes to exploring specific issues. This assistance may actually help your own internal conversation to a higher power.

For those who face overwhelming loss, this type of faith exploration could be beneficial in deepening your own understanding of a higher power. Keeping a running conversation can strengthen your faith and belief in support. This activity may be beneficial to your overall recovery and mental health when facing loss.

Over time, you could experience a new level of understanding about the world and a sense of calm. These talks could be part of prayerful meditation each day, lasting only a few minutes at the beginning and end of your day. In this manner, you can stay connected to your spiritual source. You might also find it beneficial to have an internal conversation during moments of stress to help relax and gain strength.

Including a dialogue with God in your daily life could give you the inspirational boost you need to take your personal faith to the next level. This type of work could be the beginning of a new relationship alongside your higher power, and could expand your beliefs in the power and mystery of your own beliefs. Take some time to see how this type of work can be beneficial to lowering your stress and expanding inner calm.
