How You Can Continue To Keep Oneself Away From Possible Danger Before And After Work

By Bary U Merlo

Going towards work late into the evening and returning home way before the sun is up is not the safest thing to do. However I needed to take a job as a waitress on the evening shift at a 24-hour diner in order to add to my own allowance coming from my parents. Thus, I would not have much of an option.

A few of the other ladies at work tell me to bring Mace like they do. My college flatmate says to acquire pepper spray. Just what is the difference between Mace and self defense spray, and is one a lot better than the other? Nobody has offered me a definitive response.

I told myself that I should do some homework on pepper sprays before purchasing one on the net.

I've learned that Mace and pepper spray are related but different. Mace, in its original formulation, has the very same effect as tear gas. Tear gas tends to make the eyes red as well as causes a lot of tears to flow. It leads to a runny nose, difficulty breathing and coughing. This produces a burning feeling inside the mouth and makes swallowing hard.

Self-defense spray, on the other hand, could make the eye blood vessels as well as the mucous membranes enlarge, so that the eyes can't open and breathing is very hard. Furthermore, it makes the eyes and also skin feel like they're on fire.

There is one important difference between both of them. Standard Mace might not work on those who are either drunk or high on drugs but pepper spray is going to take them down.

It is simple enough to choose. I pass men on the street constantly in the evening or early a.m. that have had too much to drink or are high on some banned substance. I am choosing the self-defense spray that is most likely to take down some crackhead coming at me with a knife.

So, what is the difference between Mace and pepper spray? What type works more effectively? It depends on your security situation. And there is always Mace pepper spray. That is exactly what I am getting.
