Ideas To Reduce The Pain After A Breakup

By James D. Hutchinson

It's really difficult when relationships do not work out. Questions and doubts will clutter your mind causing you to put yourself down. You ask questions like "what is wrong with me?" or "what could I have done to make him/her stay?" "Was I too clingy?" You should stop right there before you start pitying yourself.

There is no point in blaming yourself and trying to change things when it has already happened. A relationship that did not work out can be very difficult to accept especially if you have truly loved the person. However, you need to take hold of your life and move on.

Here are some tips that will help you achieve this.

First, never get into a relationship immediately after break up. It will end up a disaster especially when you are not over your ex-boyfriend yet and your heart is not ready.

With a new boyfriend, you end up being unfair to him because you are definitely not over your ex. You have to let go and allow time to heal you. The moment you are ready, you can start going out on dates again.

You can let out your emotion freely through writing. It is just like having a silent friend who listens while you rant. You can make some break up poems if you know how. Whatever you write, it will allow you to flush out all the pain deeply etched in your heart. After this, you will feel a relief.

Lastly, never contact your ex-boyfriend. Let him believe and think you are moving on with your life and not looking back. This will cause him to think that he is not important to you at all.

Being in pain and healing a broken heart is not an easy thing to go through. But life gave us a knack of surviving even the worst pain. Time is the essence of it all. Try to go on with your life; go out with your friends or go on a vacation. Try with all your might to let go of the person who brought pain to your heart.
