Remedies To Stop Sleeping Problems

By Shannon R. Lucas

We all make sacrifices to make the best out of our lives but some sacrifices are not worth it especially if it takes a toll on our health and our body. Sacrificing sleep for some project might be worth it for some but generally, they should not be done even in extreme cases.

When something is bothering you in bed, it can keep you wide awake the entire night. The only solution to this is to move out of the place of worry and find a spot inside the house where you can think clearly. It will surely be therapeutic enough for both you and your bed.

We all try to catch up on our sleep by weekends. This means spending more time in bed than actually getting up at the usual time every day. Waking up at eratic hours on weekends takes your circadian rhythm off course. You will have a hard time reverting your usual body clock by the time you hit the first day of work.

For women, fluctuating hormones are the usual culprit for sleep deprivation especially at that time of the month. If you find yourself having problems sleeping because of painful cramps, take a warm bath right before heading to bed and if you still feel the urge to punch your stomach, take pain relievers before sleeping.

If you find yourself tossing and turning on your bed due to hunger, then the next night, prepare yourself a hearty snack that is rich in protein. Protein-rich snack is best as it provides satiety and does not instantly burn out making you full the entire night.

Always associate your room with sleep and nothing else. If your room is filled with paperworks and folder files, you will begin to associate your room with work rather than sleeping and relaxation. Clear the clutters inside your room and you will find yourself having a good time sleeping without worries.

Even the faintest light can make a difference when you sleep. That DVD light on top of the television can easily become the only reason for you to stay wide awake at night. Keep distractions even as small as the DVD light away from you. Block every inch of light from your room.

Dust mites proliferate on your bed which means they can easily bite you when you lie on your bed. With that, always clean your bed and your room and let it be a dust mite free zone. Wash your linens and let them dry out in the sun.
