Regular Morning Practices To Start Your Day Right

By Christina E. Allshouse

We all have problems getting up in bed early in the morning. We say to ourselves that we need more time to sleep and even just a five minute power nap right before heading to the showers is all you need. But, there are other things you can do in the first hour of the morning that might actually help you last an entire day at work.

Look for something brightly colored in the morning. Red, yellow or orange will do the trick. To fully take advantage of this, you can prepare a breakfast that has all these colors. Orange juice with yellow eggs and a red robe to boot.

Alarm clocks should be your best friend and not your worst enemy. People tend to hit the snooze button when the alarm sets off and you still need to get some sleep. Avoid this habit by setting your alarm at the exact time you want to set it off and not a minute too early.

Imagine yourself living the day right. When you wake up in the morning, close your eyes but do not head back to sleep. Instead, imagine yourself doing the right things. This will help set your mind into doing the best things possible to keep your day ahead stress free.

Drink a full glass of water as soon as you get out from bed. Drinking an 8 ounce of water will help replenish the fluid loss from sleeping overnight. As you might know it, even a percent of fluid loss can make a difference on your body so always stay hydrated.

Daylight signals your body clock to be up and awake. It also signals chemicals in your body to start working for the day. Open up the curtains and let the sunshine in.

Massage your face to promote circulation to your brain. The more blood that goes into your face and brain the more active it will become. Plus, it gives you a more refreshed look when you get out of the room.

Want to have a great way to start the day? Have sex. It will shake off grogginess and boost your energy levels. Ever wonder why your parents always have a smile on their faces when they get out of the room?
