The Problem of Acne with Its Causes and Treatment Options

By Bradley J. Parker

You have sebaceous glands and hair follicles on your face, neck, shoulders, back and chest. They often get irritated because of the blockage in your pores, which create acne. People believe that acne is a problem usually common among teens; shockingly, the studies prove that the number of adults suffering from acne is more as compared to teens.

What causes acne? Usually poor hygiene, diet, nervous tension, heredity and hormone disproportions are its basis. If you need to stop acne, you should start working on the above mentioned factors. The only part where acne is not formed is your palms and the sole of your feet, which is because you have no sebaceous glands over there. Apart from those two places, every area that has sebaceous glands can be subjected to acne.

Acne can be formed anywhere on our body, except the sole of our feet and our palms. This is because these are the only places which do not have sebaceous glands under them. Chest acne is dangerous but easy to fight against. Acne once formed on your skin can travel to other places on your body through sweat or irritation, which is the known cause for acne's increase. Basically the origin of acne is genetics; it passes through genes, i.e. from parent to off-spring. Body acne can be severe as compared to facial acne because we have bigger pores on our body.

Factors that cause acne have been highlighted but chest and back acne causes are still a question. It is common knowledge that irritation increases acne and sweat boosts it; thus, to avoid acne, following points can be kept in mind.

Avoid Irritation: * If you feel any part of your skin getting irritated, get it checked. Find out the reason. * Do not miss a bath, take it every day and make sure you stay clean. * To avoid sweat, wear clothes in which your skin can breathe.

There are two highly effective treatments to cure acne: 1. Light to moderate cases

If you do not have a lot of acne, simply take a shower, cleanse the skin and let it dry. After wards apply 10% alpha hydroxyl acid to keep your skin healthy and clear.

2. Moderate to severe cases Unluckily, if you suffer from a severe case of acne, routine your day with regular cleansing of your skin and then applying 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. Applying 10% alpha hydroxyl acid would help keeping your skin in control to a great extent.
