Putting oatmeal to use in a facial is nothing new. There numbers of homemade facials available that you can put to use in order to make your skin appear and feel improved. This is because oatmeal can be used to soak up excess oil, to exfoliate the skin and to deliver moisture to the skin on your face. There are several homemade facial recipes to select from. Quite a few of them are quite easy to formulate and only take a few minutes to put stir up. If you are interested in homemade oatmeal facials, keep reading to learn some recipes that you can use!

The first simple method we will discuss here is adding small amounts of olive oil, egg white and cooked oatmeal together to create a soothing facial mask. Mix the ingredients well to be sure the egg white is thoroughly combined with the other ingredients. Now that you've combined those ingredients add a couple of drops of lemon juice and stir again. The goal is to create a single paste by mixing well. Wash your face. You might like to clean your neck as well. Spread the mixture onto your cleaned face and neck. Avoid getting the mix in your eyes. Let the mixture set on your face for between fifteen minutes and a half an hour. Take a warm damp cloth and remove the mix from your skin before washing with warm water.

The next method involves cooked oats and plain yogurt. Mash the cooked oats as you stir the ingredients together. Don't apply this to your skin before making sure the oats have been completely broken down. If your mixture is too thick it can be thinned with more yogurt or a little bit of milk. Spread onto skin just as you would a cream taking care to avoid your eyes and let sit. After you've allowed the mask to dry use warm water to remove and pat dry. Now apply your regular moisturizer.

Another recipe you can try involves a tomato, oatmeal and a teaspoon of lemon juice. Use a blender to combine ingredients into a paste that will be a coarse texture. Wash your face with a good cleanser and rinse it clean.

Once the cleanser is completely rinsed away, spread the facial mixture onto your face, taking care to avoid your eyes. You can also spread it on your neck if you like. After enough time has passed that the mix is beginning to dry you can rinse with tepid water.

These are just a few of the oatmeal facial recipes that you can use to give yourself clean, clear and beautiful skin. Don't waste your money on what you can have from your own kitchen.
